How to Choose an Access Control System for Your Office

Choosing an access control system is about more than picking a reader. Here's how we help businesses make the right call.

Step 1: Count your doors — and your users

One door with a dozen employees is a very different project than five doors with a hundred employees. Your reader choice scales with both numbers.

Step 2: Pick your credential

  • Keypads (PIN): cheapest, but codes get shared
  • Cards/Fobs (RFID): great balance of cost and control, easy to revoke
  • Fingerprint/biometric: highest security, can't be shared or lost
  • Facial recognition: touchless, fast, ideal for high-traffic entries

Step 3: Don't forget time & attendance

If your system tracks who enters and when, you've also built a time and attendance system. Reports can feed payroll automatically — many of our clients discover this "bonus" after installation and love it.

Expert tip: Choose a system that supports multiple credential types at once. Start with cards for most staff, add biometrics for the server room, and you're set for growth.

The right system grows with you. Start with one door and add more as your business expands.
